October at Chroma Gallery features two exemplary artists, Rhonda Egan and Tatyana Fogarty, and their visions of “Roads Traveled”, opening October 9 running through November 2. Both artists have travelled extensively finding inspiration that is reflected in their work.

An artist since childhood, Rhonda Egan is a founding member of Chroma Gallery and a teacher at the adjacent School of Light and Color, popular with children, teens and adults alike. Egan’s resume of national and local exhibits and awards is impressive, and her work hangs in countless private collections nationwide and worldwide, as well as being published in two popular art instruction books. Rhonda has worked in several media with various subjects, but prefers plein air landscape painting, capturing the fleeting light and vibrant color of the moment in oils.

Tatyana Fogarty has a natural talent that has catapulted her art to a high level of quality and professionalism in a few short years. She attributes much of her growth to diligence, trying to express the light and color in the ever-changing landscape around her. Born in the Latvia and widely traveled, Fogarty draws on her visual experiences for inspiration in many different landscape settings, but is especially drawn to water and to architectural subjects as her subjects of choice. Her work was accepted into the prestigious Northern California Arts exhibit, “Bold Expressions” in 2007, no small accomplishment to a relative neophyte in the Sacramento art community.

Now in its tenth year, Chroma Gallery - Northern California’s premier plein-air gallery features the works of 17 local artists. Committed to capturing radiant light and color in their artistry, their emphasis is on the Northern California landscape. Besides landscape paintings, visitors will also find vibrant still life paintings, photography, collage and sometimes the avant-garde in the bold display of color at Chroma.

Chroma Gallery is located at 10030 Fair Oaks Blvd, just off Sunrise Blvd., in the Village of Fair Oaks. Open Thursday - Sunday from noon until 5PM, Second Saturday until 9PM or by appointment. Phone (916) 966-6020.
